If you have ever investigated the costs associated with the government just finding out what it is going to pay for an item, you would see the fallacy of your arguement. Have you checked to see how many people are currently employed just to administer Medicare? There are 62000 people employed to administer social security. Nope, I'm from Perth, Australia. And people who come to the US from Australia for heathcare only do so for treatments which are either 1) discredited by medical science, so the Australian health system does not provide them? or 2) cosmetic or unnecessary procedures, because the government doesn't use taxpayer money for treatments which aren't related to health. Things like plastic surgery are much more expensive in Australia because the training standards for doctors and nurses are quite high.
